Grassroots Against Another Salem Power Plant (GASPP)

 

Grassroots Against Another Salem Power Plant is a group based in Salem focused on opposing the natural gas plant proposed by Footprint Power. GASPP believes no more investment in fossil fuel energy generation is necessary to reverse climate change, and that Salem should be a poster child for this new paradigm. Instead of a dangerous facility that pays only 2% of the tax base and harms human health and the environment, their group wants to build support to oppose the Footprint proposal and help the 65-acre waterfront site clean up and redevelop in a way more suitable to a densely populated, historic, EJ community.
